The Heart and Soul AZ Challenge is an easy way for friends, family, and co-workers to break through the barriers in pursuing a healthy future. Through a six week program, individuals will learn about the importance and benefits of nutrition and exercise while being rewarded for staying active.
Our Community:
Physical Health can be an intimidating subject. As life grows increasingly busy, our health and exercise take a backseat to work, school, family, and all the unexpected circumstances life throws at us. Shorter lunch breaks lead to fast foods, lack of movement at work or school adds to back and shoulder pain, and the absolute absence of energy when you get home discourages you from an afternoon jog.
Over the past decade, obesity rates in Arizona have doubled and deaths caused by morbid obesity and related health issues have increased by 350%. Today, one in four people in Arizona are overweight or obese which means 1,649,140 people in Arizona are at risk for serious health complications due to obesity.
TCDC | Heart and Soul:
Tanner Community Development Corporation (TCDC) sees a brighter future for our state’s health. By challenging our Arizona communities to be active every day, Heart and Soul provides a holistic and easy way for friends, family, and co-workers to begin breaking through the barriers in pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Individuals will learn about the importance and benefits of nutrition and exercise while being rewarded for staying active.
