Black and Historical Trauma Healing Project

A promising practice designed to increase individual awareness of trauma and its effects on their body and increase personal and community resilience through the practice of self-care. The BAHTH project uses creative arts as a medium to express negative feelings associated with trauma and evaluate risk and protective factors as a potential path of recovery.

Awareness of the Physiological Responses

The goal of our program is to increase awareness of the physiological responses to environmental stress, to increase the awareness of the effects of chronic stress on the body, and to empower individuals with the practice of self-regulation and self-care and focus on the 4 R’s of the trauma informed approach.
